The Old Stables is a warm and friendly bed & breakfast that is nestled in the beautiful Somerset countryside. Our B&B is a lovingly restored 17th century, Grade II Listed barn that is full of character and luxury.

Wake up in the Country

There’s just something about a break that includes stunning natural beauty to explore. We are located in the beautiful rural hamlet of Chelynch and believe us when we say that the only thing waking you up in the morning will be the sound of the birds! Countryside strolls, fresh air and peace and tranquility – what could be better?

Location

One of our best selling points is our location!  We are centrally located on the edge of the beautiful Mendip Hills which means that it’s a quick 20 minute journey into Wells, Glastonbury, Bruton, Cheddar or Frome or if a day in the city is calling to you, Bath and Bristol are only 45 minutes from us (with great Park & Rides available).

Bring your Dog

Forget expensive kennel fees (and sad puppy eyes!) and bring your dog on holiday with you.  With countryside walks in abundance, pet friendly pubs close by and a playful welcome from Jasper, our Golden Retriever, you and your pup will have a great time together.  We’ll even put together a welcome Pup Pack for your four legged family member to enjoy during the stay!

The Royal Bath & West Showground

We are very fortunate to be in close proximity (literally a 6 minute drive away) to The Royal Bath & West Showground which is home to a series of world class shows and events throughout the year including the fantastic three day Bath & West Agricultural Show (early June each year, but book early!). We couldn’t be any more conveniently located.
