Broadcombe, King of the Helm

…otherwise known as Jasper! Broadcombe King of the Helm is his pedigree name – a bit grand for this little puppy, if you ask me 🙂 Jasper’s been home with us for about a month now, so I thought it was high time that he had his proper introduction!

Jasper is our 12-week old golden retriever. Already he has proved himself to be a vital member of the B&B team – mainly as Mr and Mrs B&B’s alarm clock!

Finding Jasper was a bit of a job. We knew that we wanted a big, friendly dog for the B&B, and that we would have to wait until we were all settled in before getting him. Moving was stressful enough without a tiny puppy running around!

So, we waited, and we waited, and we waited some more. We contacted a couple of places, but they didn’t sit quite right with us. Finally, we discovered the lovely ladies at Broadcombe Golden Retrievers, and Jasper’s mum , Mia. Only just down the road, they were exactly what we were looking for. The puppies were happy, healthy, and most importantly, up for adoption!

Since bringing him home, Jasper has developed in leaps and bounds. He’s twice the size he was a month ago, and has begun puppy class. Already he knows how to sit, lie down, stay, and come (well, sometimes!) The leash seems to be more for biting than walking, but that’s okay, it’ll come with time.

He’ll be an official member of the Guest Welcoming Service before you know it! For the meantime, although he can be a little bit shy, if you have a treat in your hand he is more than happy to give you a paw in return.
