Here at The Old Stables B&B, we love to shout about, well, things we love and today it’s all about Cheddar Paws Bakery, in Cheddar!
Located in the shadow of the stunning Cheddar Gorge sits a lovely little cafe that definitely puts dogs first – Cheddar Paws Bakery (or could it be a Barkery?). Cheddar Paws is a unique concept. It’s not just dog friendly, it really is especially tailored for doggy guests. We took our Jasper along back in April for a 3rd birthday treat and he was not disappointed! We were warmly greeted by Paul who couldn’t have been any friendlier. Such a fuss made over Jasper (which he l
oves) and then the choice of an array of amazing home baked canine treats to choose from. Jasper chose a pup-cake which arrived at our table with a birthday candle. Saying it was a big hit is an understatement! What we really like about Cheddar Paws is their belief that every dog treat should be full of good, wholesome ingredients. Far too many dog treats contain all sorts of strange ingredients – not these. All the treats are made from high quality, human grade food, with canine nutrition in mind. Free from refined sugars, artificial preservatives and colours they are hypoallergenic, grain free, egg free and milk free and are made right there in the bakery. 
Knowing this we were keen to introduce all of our doggy guests at The Old Stables to Cheddar Paws and asked Paul to create an Old Stables bone-shaped cookie for us that we could give away as a special treat. Jasper has sampled one and has given it two paws up and can’t wait to share with each of the dogs that come to stay. Look for the treat for your pup in the going-away bag we give out at the end of your stay.
So if you’re visiting with your pupper and you take a trip out to Cheddar Gorge (great for walkies by the way), stop in to see Paul at the bakery. It’s got a great atmosphere, lots of treats for your pet, and a ton of great doggy products for sale too. Oh, and there’s loads of amazing photo ops for you and your pup!
